About the Author

Mary A. He is a professor in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences at the University of Louisville. She received the highest academic honor bestowed by the organization in 2009. She was a co-contributor to the 2006 United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She is a Senior Research Fellow for the Institute for Human Centered Design. She is a frequent University of Louisville Red and Black Scholar-Athlete mentor. One Olympic Games and one Para Pan American Games have been worked on by Hums.

There is a person named Joanne C. MacLean. She is the President and Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. She was a professor of Sport Management at Brock University from 2002 to 2012 and held the positions of department chair and interim Dean. She has experience in the administration, governance, and human resource management of university sport in Canada. MacLean has been in charge of basketball in Canada for a long time. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Canada Basketball from 2002 to 2008 and acted as President of the Canadian University Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. She was a Research Fellow of the North American Society for Sport Management.
