Tom F. Gutchewsky is an Advanced Practice Nurse in Cardiac Surgery who works out of Chicago and performs over 2000 procedures annually, including left ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation. He has over 20 years of bedside experience, having worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and the Cardiac Surgery Department. Tom has been a nurse for over 18 years and has worked in a variety of fields. He taught undergraduate nursing students and precepts nurse practitioners in the open heart intensive care unit.
